The rapper officially launched his fashion line - Twentieth September Wear (T.S.W) on Saturday 29th, October, 2011, at XL Lounge, in Lagos.

Not only is he making clothes and shoes, he's also making wrist watches. Say what you like, but this is highly commendable. And the watches look cool. Big congrats to you man.

Nominees Unveiled For FAB Awards 2011

Popular upscale publication, FAB Magazine has released its nominations list for the forthcoming 2011 edition of the FAB Awards.
The nominees list was unveiled on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at a small gig put together by organizers of the awards at The Marquee, Mega Plaza, Victoria Island.
Organizers say the awards will hold on Sunday, December 11, 2011 and promised to announce a venue in due time.

BET Hip Hop Awards Nigerian Cypher 2011 [Review]

So here we finally have it, after Nigerians watched Black Entertainment Television (BET) introduce Ghana to the highly respected BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher last year, most Nigerians were bitter – envisaging that Nigeria boasts of better and more eloquent rappers, some even claimed Nigeria has the best rappers in the African continent.
So this year, in commemoration of the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2011, the production team found their way to Lagos to pick a team of six male and five female Nigerian rappers to represent the rest of the country on a global platform.
However, the Nigerian cypher wasn’t aired at the awards show in the US that night making it look like a somewhat wasteful effort, but then again, we could only be thankful for the opportunity for some of the rappers to do us proud. Here’s a thorough breakdown of each rappers cypher, rated on a scale of 10.
FYI: A Cypher or Cipher is the act of freestyle rapping through acapella or on instrumental beats. The rap is ‘free of style’, and can be improvised or previously written.

Afrobeat Star Femi Kuti Performs On Stage At Sadler's

It’s no news that Femi Kuti was missing at this year’s Felabration festival held at the New Afrika Shrine, Lagos. Well the Afrobeat maestro embarked on a 3-weeks European tour alongside US rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers which commenced on Friday, October 7, 2011.
Femi and his Positive Force band alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at the Lanxess Arena and 02 Arena in Germany, Ericsson Globe in Sweden, Boxen Arena in Denmark, Bercy in France and Ahoy in Netherlands which was sold out.
He then ended his Europe tour on Thursday, October 27 with Nigerian celebrated singer Asa at the Festival de Nuits de Champagne in Troyes, France leaving the show sold out.

Before every great show, comes the strenuous rehearsals and routine pre-performance procedures.
The excitement and adrenaline rush start to build right from this moment to when the stage opens and the gig begins to roll!
The Headies 2011 was no exception as performers at the Saturday October 22nd event rehearsed for weeks at the Ivory Health Club in Ikeja and later on at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites where the awards later held.
With carefully-selected costumes, hand-picked back-ups and dedicated back lines, the rehearsal sessions worked like magic, making sure this year’s performances were nothing short of A-Class (well, except for the unfortunate mishap with Dr. SID‘s set!)

Bracket – Cupid Stories [ALBUM REVIEW]

The duo known as Bracket should be sued for false advertising. Why? Their new LP titled Cupid Stories will make you fall out of love rather than head over heels in love with them.
This album is unimaginative and one-dimensional. From the beginning to the end it’s the same rhythm tweaked to suit the different instrumentals. The production is scarcely anything to boast of as most of the producers churn out formulaic beats for the guys to sing on.
The core problem with the album lays in the fact that Bracket try to make every song a pop hit but with limited skills and vocal talent they fall short of their target. The lyrics department also falls short. Their single ‘Muah Muah’ isn’t the kind of material we expect from a group that had the hottest single just two years ago. What worked for them on their last album seems to have deserted them on their new album.
Fortunately the tracks with guest artistes save the album. Girl which features the rave of the moment Wizkid is a party starter and Champion featuring Wizkid’s boss Banky W is another strong track. ‘Yori Yori’ remix featuring 2face Idibia also makes it on the album although re-titled as ‘Remember’. Somehow Bracket bring their A-game when they feature top artistes. Why they fail to duplicate this form on songs with just them alone baffles one.
Ape Planet, their record label whose name they croon on almost all their songs should have gotten them solid songwriters to assist them in the studio. This would have salvaged their sophomore from the disappointment it is. Sadly this isn’t the case which makes Cupid Stories a book of forgettable love tales.

Adele Cancels All Live Shows For 2011 Tour

English singer-songwriter Adele has cancelled all her remaining live dates and appearances for 2011 as she battles problems with her voice.
We reported a few weeks ago that Adele had cancelled her ten-city US tour due to a laryngitis infection she is battling with.
A statement on her official website says that the 23-year-old is to ‘surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat and a full recovery is expected’. Doctors have since ordered her to rest her voice and regain fully before scheduling any more shows.
Her management have also been promised a refund to all ticket holders.
