Oshodi/Isolo LG Boss Deny Sending Thugs To Batter Actor Ayo Badmus

Oshodi/Isolo LG Boss, Hon Bolaji Ariyoh                         Battered actor Ayo Badmus

Some days ago, popular actor, Ayo Badmus, alleged that he was battered by thugs guarding the Chairman of Oshodi L.G.A, Hon Bolaji Ariyoh. (If you missed it, read it here). Well, the LG boss, via his media people, are denying they had anything to do with the beating. They claim the actor had a falling out with some men at the event, and it had nothing to do with them.

A press statement from the office of the Oshodi/Isolo Local Government boss below...
The much spread rumor and campaign of calumny issued by a Nollywood actor, AYO BADMUS, on his alleged humiliation and beating, ordered by the OSHODI/ISOLO LOCAL GOVERNMENT Chairman is nothing but a complete ruse fabricated to damage the image of the Honorable Chairman and create some frivolous attention and gain unnecessary sympathy for himself.

Nigerian Girl Stripped Naked For Allegedly Stealing a Phone

The girl carrying the phone she allegedly stole
The girl was stripped naked, kicked to the ground, they were mostly guys surrounding her, touching her, some slapped her buttocks...someone tried to put his finger in her vagina...you know, just dehumanizing stuff..all because she allegedly stole a blackberry phone. You can see her face clearly in the video so I won't bother you all with the video so I don't spoil your Monday afternoon...but it's such a sad thing to watch.

I don't know how some people can be so callous. What's wrong with us? Where's our conscience? If someone steals, abi you call the police, get them arrested. Why strip her naked, take pictures, film it and just strip her of her dignity.

I know some of you will go looking for the video...good luck finding it...:-

AGAIN: Chinua Achebe Rejects National Honour

Literary giant, Chinua Achebe, has once again rejected a conferment on him of the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) by the federal government. In a statement today, Achebe explained why:
The reasons for rejecting the offer when it was first made have not been addressed let alone solved. It is inappropriate to offer it again to me. I must therefore regretfully decline the offer again". ~Prof. Chinua Achebe.
President Jonathan responded by issuing a statement today via his spokesperson Reuben Abati...
Coming as it does, against the background of the widely acclaimed electoral reforms undertaken by the Jonathan Administration, the claim by Prof. Achebe clearly flies in the face of the reality of Nigeria’s current political situation.
As reflected in the immense improvements recorded in the conduct of the last general elections which were applauded within and outside the country as the most credible elections in Nigeria in recent years, the Jonathan Administration has made tremendous efforts to positively change the political architecture complained about by Prof. Achebe and other Nigerians.
Politically, Nigeria cannot be said to be where it was in 2004 as the Jonathan Administration has embarked on extensive electoral reforms to institute a regime of electoral integrity that all Nigerians can be proud of, believing that governance will be greatly enhanced in the country if the will of the people prevails at elections.
While President Jonathan acknowledges that there are still challenges in the path of Nigeria’s attainment of its full potentials as a nation, he believes that his Administration is moving the country in the right direction and therefore deserves the support, encouragement and cooperation of all citizens.

The Channel O Music Video Awards 2011 – Winners & “Where was D’banj?”

2011 Channel O MVA - Most Gifted Video Of The Year winner - Zakes Bantwini
We can’t wait to unleash all the exciting red carpet and on-stage photos from the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards! In the interim, we will love to know what you thought about the show and the winners.
The most coveted award - Most Gifted Video Of The Year went to South African star Zakes Bantwini for his video “Wasting My Time“.
As we expected, our Nigerian stars Darey, Naeto C, Ice Prince (feat. BrymO), D’banj and Banky W won various major awards at the event.
The big question of the night was “Where is D’banj?“, the star had been hyped as the night’s major attraction as he was the recipient of the 2011 Channel O Music Awards Special Recognition Award.
D’banj reportedly missed the show due to a dispute/oversight/miscommunication over his flight ticket class (BN has reached out to both parties for a statement).
The show which was hosted by Banky W and Dineo went well with strong performances by Uganda’s Keko and Navio, Zambia’s C.R.I.$.I.$, Nigeria’s Ice Prince and Flavour, Kenya’s STL and Angola’s Cabo Snoop. That said, D’banj’s absence definitely created a void.
