NETPod: Durella And Wizkid Go ‘Gaga’

New music from the self acclaimed ‘Zangalist’ Durella; with final preparations for his third album ‘Back, Better and Bada‘, the pop singer has released another single to up the ante.
The new single ‘Gaga‘ which features one of the hottest Nigerian artistes, pop act Wizkid doesn’t fall far from the new sound but will make its rounds as a hit song.
No memorable lyrics but I guess we weren’t searching for that in a fast pacey Nigerian pop song. The track was produced by Mcvance.

Kate Henshaw Nuttall Finally Divorce her white Husband

Star actress Kate Henshaw Nuttal, and her better half of 12 years, Roderick James Nuttal are no longer together!

The award-winning Nigerian actress and her British husband parted ways amicably a few months back following ‘irreconcilable differences”.

Those who know the actress and her beau claimed the separation was not bitter at all-and now they live apart(though in the same area of town in Lagos, the Lekki axis).

Blessed with a daughter, Ella who’s now 11,the couple’s lifestyles made it impossible for them to enjoy marital bliss. While Kate, now 40,is a very busy actress, moving from one location to another(across the country and sometimes abroad),and honouring endorsement engagements,Rod,also in his 40s,is the Managing Director of Ledrop Nigeria Ltd(agents for Jack Daniels and Piper Hiedsieck champagne) constantly travels.

Since both are hardly together to savour companionship, their relationship suffered strains-and after looking at the situation, they first decided to try separation and see if they could later patch things up.But they did not succeed.

But at this time, both had agreed to move on for the sake of their daughter and in loving memory of their 12-year union.

And soon, they will be heading to the courts to formalize their separation. We gathered that Kate and Rod are talking to lawyers and in no time, the divorce suit, which many close friends and associates expect to be amicable will begin.

The actress refused to make elaborate comments on her husband and her marriage....

3 Contestants To Be Evicted This Week At Project Fame

The contestants on probation
There apparently seems to be no end to the drama and intrigues that have characterised this year’s MTN Project Fame West Africa, and avid watchers of the reality show are in for a surprise as three, as opposed to the usual two, contestants on the show would be facing eviction this week!
This decision was taken by the judges of the show in a bid to get the best from the contestants and up their ante as they felt the pace of performance was a bit slackened.
Entertainment boss Kwame, one of the judges on the show summed up the feelings of the judges when he told the contestants, ‘You all did well with your performances but we are looking for the best in you all. I believe some of you have gotten too comfortable in this competition that is why we, the judges have decided to put seven people on probation today instead of the usual six to go on probation.
With this new development, three contestants would be sent home from the project fame academy instead of two contestants next week. By doing this, we believe that you all would realize that this is a competition and you have to fight to win the grand prize’, he added.
Just last week, Aziga and Zaliha were evicted from the competition.
The contestants on probation from whom the three evictees would be drawn from this week are; Emmanuel, Joba, Racheal, Roy, Princess, Chidinma and Ruth.

Olu Jacobs, Genevieve, Stephanie Okereke Receive National Honours

Stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment sector have reasons to celebrate as some of their own were proud recipients of prestigious national awards conferred on them by the President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Sunday, November 13, 2011.
Those conferred the award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR), include veteran actor, Olu Jacobs, actor turned politician, Kanayo O Kanayo, one-half of the ‘Aki and Pawpaw’ duo, Osita Iheme, producer and director, Amaka Igwe, and Nollywood divas Stephanie Okereke and Genevieve Nnaji.
Meanwhile, respected pioneer African novelist and renowned author of bestselling epic novel ‘Things Fall Apart’, Professor Chinua Achebe, has again rejected the national award of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) awarded to him by the federal government.
The professor of Africana studies at Brown University, United States, rejected the award on the ground that the concerns he raised when he first rejected the award in 2004 remain unresolved and it was ‘inappropriate’ for the government to offer him the award again.
According to a statement issued by the presidential media adviser, Dr. Reuben Abati, the Presidency has expressed regret that the eminent professor turned down the award, claiming that the professor’s assertion ‘flies in the face of reality’ especially as the situation in the country was much improved than when he first turned the award down.
It will be recalled that 81 year old Professor Achebe had earlier turned down the same award by the Olusegun Obasanjo government in 2004, lamenting the corroding influence of a certain ‘clique of renegades, openly boasting its connections in high places’, who seem ‘determined to turn my homeland into a bankrupt and lawless fiefdom. I am appalled by the brazenness of this clique and the silence, if not connivance, of the Presidency’.
The CFR is a prestigious national merit award conferred on individuals, by the government, who have rendered services to the benefit of the nation.

Rare Michael Jackson Tour Film To Go On Sale

The last has not been heard about the late ‘King of Pop’, Michael Joseph Jackson, as he remains news-worthy even in death as in life. This time however, the late megastar is in the news over an unreleased and unseen tour film he made sometime in 1993 during the height of his career and which reportedly is to fetch over its estimated £4M four million pounds when it goes on auction on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
The two-hour film, which had been in possession of his former personal chauffeur, contains scenes from his Pepsi-Cola sponsored ‘Dangerous’ world tour, behind-the-scene and  backstage footages as well a scene of Jordy Chandler, the boy Jackson was accused of having sexually molested. The film was shot using the latest technology available at the time, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A short preview of the tape on popular file sharing site YouTube, after Jackson’s death in 2009, had generated controversies among the late singer’s estate and record company, all claiming exclusive rights, prompting its removal by the ex-chauffeur, a Brazilian.
Fans and collectors of the late singer’s memorabilia will throng Fame Bureau Auctioneers where the tape will go on sale and may likely surpass the estimated amount cited.
The world tour, during which the film was made, lasted from June 1992 to November, 1993 but wasn’t concluded owing to Jackson’s inability to continue because of illness.
Earlier this month, the ‘King of Pop’s personal doctor, Conrad Murray, who administered the drugs, was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of the singer, who died in June 2009 after receiving a fatal overdose of drugs especially the potent anaesthetic Propofol.
