Organizers have announced this year’s first annual World
Fashion Week (WFW) will be held in New York next year 2012 but
as a prelude to the global fashion event, there will be a World
Fashion Week Welcoming Gala.
The gathering will welcome leading fashion designers from all over
the world, joining forces to encourage entrepreneurship activities,
women empowerment and the eradication of global poverty, launching the
global campaign ‘give your light to the world’.A total of 48 countries will be featured at the gala and Nigeria’s very own haute couture fashion designer Deola Sagoe is also included in the list of designers set to partake at the event.
The gala which will be taking place on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the prestigious Cipriani, 110 East 42nd Street, New York.
Sagoe began designing in 1998 and has gained international notoriety for her lively and colorful designs. She frequently exhibits her couture collection at fashion week.
