Samson Siasia
P.M.Sports gathered that President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari told the board during their meeting this afternoon that there is no going back on the sacking of Siasia who failed to qualify Nigeria for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations after the Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw match by Syli Nationale of Guinea in Abuja on 8 October in Abuja, Nigeria.
A source at the meeting revealed that four out of 11 members of the board did not support the sacking of Siasia with an objection that the former Nigerian international brought about positive development in the senior national team since he took over from Austin Eguavoen.
They were also of the opinion that relieving Siasia of his job now will mean that a new coach will have to start all over again, which according to them, won’t be good for the Eagles and the nation’s football.
The meeting was ongoing as at the time of writing this report.
