EXCLUSIVE: Slowdog – Ekwe Ekwe ft Phyno

Fast-rising Eastern hiphop act, Slowdog, has been working hard in the studio and revving up to become one of the most respected Indigenous rappers in the game. The Anambra-born rapper spits in both English and Igbo with his natural accent; no “forming” at all, and you can hear everything he’s saying (understanding it doesn’t really matter at this point).
Ekwe Ekwe” is the new single off Slowdog’s “Married Man 2 Be” album dropping next year. The hook, which basically means “Who no gree go gree”, was delivered by Phyno, one guy I rate highly. Phyno also drops some bars for good measure. Bump this joint right away. I fully endorse!

‘Festive Sparkle & Merry Cheers’ – Virgos Lounge releases “Party Season” Collection

A few weeks ago, BN featured the video campaign which showcased the “Party Season Collection”  from London-based womenswear brand Virgos Lounge. In line with what can be described as the Virgos Lounge aesthetic the collection consists of intricately beaded designs which combine contemporary silhouettes and trends with classic vintage styles to create unique statement pieces for the modern woman.
Bright colours, vibrant embellishments and fringe detailing are employed to exude elements  reminiscent of a carnival; we are presented with sweeping floor-length garments, we see a re-make of the opal dress as worn by Vanessa Simmons into a maxi, cut-out dresses and tribal depictions embracing of  funfair, merry cheers and sparkle! We are presented with a  selection of standout party pieces that will take one  through an amazing party season and beyond!

Video Premiere: Sossick Reminisces Dagrin In ‘I Git It’

If there was one word that could describe Sossick career, it would be ‘Process’.
Coming out of the shadows of his elder brother Gino (Soss’ produced the entire ‘Pain Plus Work‘ album by Gino), the producer/rapper/singer hooked up with the late Dagrin to drop ‘Pon pon pon‘, one of the most grimy songs in the history of Nigerian Hip-hop and subsequently produce 65 percent of Dagrin’s album ‘C.E.O’.
Sossick is doing more than sticking around though. Producing for the likes of Naeto C, Sasha, Tiwa Savage and a bag of up comers has kept him in the loop.
But he isn’t stopping there, once in a while he steps into the recording booth to fulfill his other duties as an artiste. ‘I git it‘ is a certified street banger. The video traces elements of his lost friend as he connects with the streets. Brilliant work.

‘Keresimesi’ + ‘Mukulu’ By Skales

The world is a stage and I’m the main attraction‘ – Skales.
The last two years have seen a handful of new age rappers make their way to the fore front. While some like M.I, Ice Prince and Vector are already known round the country, a few others are threading the same path to prominence.
One of those ‘Freshmen’ is Skales. The Edo-born, Kaduna-raised rapper easily makes the ‘Next to blow’ list as he clearly shows his intent to dominate. His ‘Heading for a Grammy‘ single created buzz for him and signing with E-M-E has certainly given him  a head start in the race to relevance.
Skales clearly makes his intention on ‘Keresimesi‘. Spot-on lyrics and commendable delivery added with a catchy hook, this kid knows how to make a hot joint. His draws his inspiration from the forthcoming Christmas celebration and is smart enough to keep it at two verses.
On ‘Mukulu‘, Skales takes another route. While this single will confuse his Hip-hop fans, it will be accepted on the local front. There is however a very big similarity between his sound and that of his label mate, Wizkid. One would think Wizzy ghost-wrote the song for him.
Both songs were produced by Sarz (‘Joor oh, Joor Oh remix). Very good work

Pictures: South African anti-rape device with teeth slices penis.

A South African woman has invented an anti-rape device which when inserted into the vagina, will bite into a guy's penis when she flexes her vagina muscles. Sonette Ehler, the inventor of the device called the RAPE-X, says she got the idea from a friend who when she was raped recently told her "I wish I had teeth down there" Ehler says  the logo for the device features the slogan

"YES MEANS YES, BUT NO MEANS CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!!!" South Africa has the highest rate of rapes in the WORLD.
