British Council Presents Creative Industries Expo 2011

Students, professionals and general stakeholders in the creative industry sector will be hosted by the British Council, a non-governmental international organization for educational opportunities and cultural relations, in an interactive Creative Industries Expo, billed to hold on Sunday, December 4 to Wednesday, December 7 2011 at the Eko hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event which is put together to develop and expand entrepreneurship skills for attendees, providing a guide on how to do business locally as well as in the UK, and tips on protecting intellectual properties, promises to be an ideal gathering for like minds in diverse sectors of the creative industry to interact and network.
The four-day event will feature keynote addresses by Nigeria’s Culture and Tourism Minister, Chief Edem Duke and Ian Livingstone, Life President of British video game publishing firm Eidos.
Other interesting features of the expo include speeches by key players in various sectors of the Nigerian economy among whom are; Governors Rotimi Amaechi and Liyel Imoke of Rivers and Cross Rivers States respectively, Greg Odutayo, President of National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, NANTAP, veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, Audu Maikori, CEO Chocolate City Music Group amongst other seasoned professionals.
Interested Participants are expected to register online for the event at; www.creativeexponigeria.org. The British Council has joined in work on promoting creative industries abroad, including running a series of awards for young creative entrepreneurs worldwide such as the International Young Publisher of the Year, UK Young Publishing Entrepreneur and International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
